Events

Overview

The events feature allows you to create, share, and view events.

New Features

  • Options for repeated events have been added.
  • The Event List can now be synced with iOS Calendar.
  • An alarm setting has been added for events.

 

Viewing Events

Use the events button on the Home screen to access your event list, then select an event to view its details.

Change View

Tap the icon to the right of the title to switch between calendar and list view.

Invited

Tap the Invited tab to view only events to which you have received invites from other players.

Hosting

Tap the Hosting tab to view only events that you created.
 

Repeated Events

Repeated event settings allow you to create a series of events simultaneously.

Accessing Repeat Settings

  1. From the Create Event menu, tap "Duration."
  2. Select "Repeat."
  3. Setting the number of days repeated to anything other than "None" will display the Repeat Type options.

Adjusting Repeat Settings

To adjust repeat settings, tap the icon, select "Edit Event," and select one of the following:

  • All
  • This Event

All

Edit all events in the series.

This Event

Edit only the event on the chosen day.

Events that are edited individually will be removed from the corresponding event series.

Canceling Repeated Events

To cancel a repeated event to which you have already invited other players, tap the icon, select "Cancel Event," and select one of the following:

  • All
  • This Event

Canceled events will be removed from the corresponding event series.

Closing Event RSVP

To close RSVPs for an event to which you have already invited other players, tap the icon, select "Close Invites," and select one of one of the following:

  • All
  • This Event

RSVPs cannot be sent to events that have already ended, even with "Send RSVP to All."

Creating an Event

You may create events and invite other users to join you. The event will then appear on their event list.

  1. Tap the icon on the right edge of the title bar.
  2. Use the event creation window to add a title, start time, and other details. These settings can be adjusted later.
  3. Choose Invitees to select users you wish to invite.
  4. Choose Event Chat to select or create an official group chat for participants.
  5. When you are done, tap the Confirm Event Settings button.
  6. Set your RSVP and add a comment in the confirmation window.
  7. Tap Create Event to finalize your event. The event will now display on invitees' event lists and they will receive a notification.
     

Editing an Event

You can change the settings for events you have created.

  1. Choose the Hosting tab on your event list to display only events you have created.
  2. Select the event you wish to edit to bring up the Event Details screen.
  3. Tap the icon on the upper right to edit your event.

Changing the time or date of an event will reset all RSVPs and prompt all invitees to resend their RSVP.
 

Responding to Invites

  1. Select an event. Eligible events will display "You have been invited."
  2. Read the event details. Once you have decided whether to participate, tap the RSVP button.
  3. Choose Participating or Not Participating, and enter other details and a comment as necessary. When done, tap Send RSVP.
  4. Your response will be displayed on the event page.

Resending RSVPs
Until the time and date of the event, there is no limit to the number of times an RSVP may be resent.

You can edit your response at any time.

Canceling an event

You may cancel a group event to which you have invited other users.

  1. Select the group event to display its details.
  2. Tap the icon in the top right of the screen followed by Cancel Event.
  3. Select Yes to cancel the event. Invitees will be notified.

Creating a Private Event

You can create a private event that involves no other players to keep track of your own plans. Private events will not be visible to other users.

  1. Tap the icon on the right edge of the title bar.
  2. Use the event creation window to add a title, start time, and other details as necessary.
  3. Tap the red Create Private Event button at the bottom of the page.
     

Deleting an Event

Deleting an event will remove it from your event list.

  • Private events can be deleted at any time.
  • Group events created by other users can be deleted if your status is set to "Not Participating" or "Undecided." The event cannot be deleted if you have selected "Participating."
  • Group events that you have created cannot be deleted. However, canceling the event will delete it from the event list.

Delete (Method A)

  1. From your Events list, tap and hold on the entry for the private event you wish to delete.
  2. Select Delete Event from the submenu.
  3. When the confirmation prompt appears, choose Yes.

Delete (Method B) (Private Event)

  1. From your Events list, tap on the private event you wish to delete to view its details.
  2. Tap the icon on the upper right, and select Delete Event.
  3. When the confirmation prompt appears, choose Yes.

Delete (Method C) (Canceled Group Event)

  1. From your Events list, tap on the canceled event you wish to delete to view its details.
  2. Tap the Delete button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. When the confirmation prompt appears, choose Yes.

Alarm Settings

The alarm will be set automatically under the following conditions:

  • When you create an event.
  • When you accept an invitation to an event.

A bell will appear next to events for which an alarm has been set.

Adjust Alarm Settings

  1. Select the event you wish to edit to bring up the Event Details screen.
  2. Tap the icon on the upper right then select Alarms.
  3. Select a desired time for the alarm from the menu that appears. To disable the alarm, you may select Off.

Default Alarm Setting

By default, the alarm will be set to 15 minutes before the start of an event. This setting may also be changed.

Syncing the Event List with iOS Calendar

The Event List can be synced with iOS Calendar.

Synced Events

Any events scheduled to begin at any time in the future will be synced. These include:

  • Private and public events you created
  • Registered events

Events which have been canceled or those for which you have changed your status to "Not Participating" will be removed from iOS Calendar.

Synced Data

  • Event names
  • Starting times
  • Ending times

Changes made with iOS Calendar will not be reflected in the app.
Changes made to an event in the app will be reflected in iOS Calendar.

Events that have already started or ended will not be added to iOS Calendar.

Sync Settings

iOS Calendar sync is set to Off by default. This can be changed by following these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap the icon in the top right of the screen.
  2. Change the "Sync with iOS Calendar" setting to On.

Enabling this setting will sync the app with iOS Calendar the next time you refresh your Event List.
